be too far away and inaccessible for the children of Kowloon. It is the former type of grounds of which Government desires that there should be reasonable provision in the rapidly developing areas. They do not wish to see New Kowloon become a congestion of bricks and mortar like Victoria and certain

parts of old Kowloon. The Government reviews the position

from time to time and certain small areas earmarked by the Playing Fields Committee have been released for building development. Government's general policy in this matter is to sell valuable frontages leaving the land behind for recreation areas.

Paragraph 30. The Director of Public Works is

going into the question as to the best use to which this piece of land can be put.

Paragraph 31. On the recommendation of the

Director of Education and the Bo rd of Education the fees at the Central British School are being raised from $60 to $90 per annum, at the Peak School from $90 and $120 to $105 and at

Junior British Schools from $30 to $60. It is not considered

desirable to put the fees on a sterling basis.

Paragraph 32. The difficulty would be to find another suitable location for the Slaughter Houses.
